This brick yard was located next to the main road and looked promising from a photographer’s view. Dominating colours were redish-brown from the bricks, yellow from plastic covers and blue from the plastic roof protection. Clay was watered, pressed into forms, then the bricks were air-dried and burned in huge kilns.
Our driver asked for permission to enter the yard and no one had any objection.
The workers were men and women. However, no children on the site did work, at least we had no indication they did. After having lost their shyness the kids took great interest in these strange people with their cameras. They liked to be photographed. One boy even asked for pictures to be taken with his father.
